Our ceremony will be at Stan Hywet, an historic house in Akron Ohio that is famous for its gardens. The ceremony will be on the back terrace if the weather is fair, and in an event tent if the weather is more typically northeastern Ohio-ish. We recommend practical shoes.
The site address is 714 North Portage Path, Akron OH 44303.
The wedding will take place at 4:30pm and is semi-formal. More information on the day’s schedule will be posted once we formalize plans.
A classic “industrialist Tudor”, it was built in the Tudor-revival style by F. A. Seiberling and his wife Gertrude. The Seiberlings built the home between 1912-1915. Seiberling was best known for co-founding the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, in 1898, and the Seiberling Rubber Company in 1921. Gertrude was a well known local painter, and together they developed the gardens and entertained most of the famous musicians of the early-20th century at the home.
